Budgie, Charles Endell Esq and More Merchandise/Memorabilia

------------Brand New Merchandise-------------

This re-release of Leo Sayer's "Just a Boy" album finally allows all fans to obtain, what has up until now, been a rather hard to find work. Further, this version of "Just A Boy" contains the song, "Praise the Land," which was used in the show "Budgie" starring Leo's manager Adam Faith and also included is the song "Reasons" which Leo wrote for Roger Daltry and actually appeared on one of Roger's solo albums

Adam Faith's fine album "I Survive" is now avaialble for the first time on cd. Click the image to take you there.

Adam and Zoe in the 1992 BBC 1 series "Love Hurts".

Now available from Network Dvd, Series One and Two of Budgie.

(the additional features on Series Two such as "Budgie's Birds", are absolutely superb!)

------------Vintage Memorabilia-------------

Two different Budgie audio Compact Discs were released, one commercially, the other privately.

A return to the theatre in 1988 saw Adam Faith in the West End of London, alongside Eastenders star Anita Dobson in Budgie The Musical - a splendily acted and directed stage musical version of his 1970s television series Budgie. Unfortunately, (due mainly to the shows unpolitically correct subject matter more than anything else), this particular Budgie venture was not well received by critics, and the final curtain fell prematurely.

Both a vinyl lp and cd were commercially released of the stage show...if you can track them down that is.

(e-Bay might be a good bet for much of the folllowing).

Poster of the event which is worth collecting.

(and the brochure)

not forgetting the flyer either!

The other cd audio item of interest is a private, limited edition soundscape realisation of the hit tv series:

Only a very few were made.

The album was called

"Budgie: Selected Original Television Music and Dialogue, Special Arrangements and More".

Most aspects of Budgie were covered on this 25 track, 60 minute-plus masterpiece, which includes the unused Budgie tracks "Fading Faces", "Wierdo", and an alternative "The Loner" theme by N.Harrison. Not only this, but the album featured entirely new material by the accliamed soundtrack composer Kenneth John Parsons, (who also engineered an album of exotic musical soundscapes based on the hit tv series "The Prisoner"), with certain musical sequences interwoven with passages of carefully chosen dialogue from the tv show...thus giving Budgie a whole new, fresh dimension!...WOW!

Mens Vintage 1970s Faux Suede Jacket

This is in the style of the jacket Adam Faith wore in the Budgie TV series. He started a fashion craze at the time, and everyone was wearing jackets similar to this.

It has a typical 70s rounded collar is size small with zip front and two side zip pockets, and is slim fitting. The colour is black and gold.

These turn up very rarely and are highly sought-after.

I recently came across this Adam Faith passport for sale on the net.

This item has been offered for sale on an internet site with a price tag of many hundreds of dollars.

(I wish that I could afford it!)

It was issued in the stars real name, Terence Nelhams-Wright and says beneath the 'name of bearer section' that he was professionally known as Adam Faith.

A small black and white photo of Adam, taken in the early 1970's, is in the passport with his signature in black ink on the second page.

Curious how Adam looks more like Budgie Bird in this picture than the superstar he was meant to be in real life.

Is it true, (as many pundits were claiming at the time), that the role of Budgie had somehow taken Adam over, or maybe he was merely playing himself in the series?

The passport was issued on 29 August 1972, for one year, but was extended on 8 November 1973 until 29 August 1982. There are numerous visa and entry stamps between England, the Bahamas, Amsterdam, Malaga, Madrid, Nice, Alicante, Australia and New Zealand (for the 1978 Leo Sayer tour) and over fifty entry stamps to the United States.
